Every month, students from all backgrounds start campaigns on Skolafund.

Many have been successful and already gone on to great things. Every once in a while, we want to do our part to highlight the latest campaigns that are active on Skolafund.

We hope that you, our community, can help to share these inspiring stories too!

Roshaliza is raising money for just one thing – a laptop.

Let’s be honest. Today, every university student needs a laptop. Some of us are blessed to be able to afford the latest Macbooks or superpowered gaming machine that we spend more time playing DOTA on than actually studying.

But everyone needs a laptop. Assignments. Research. And for engineers like Roshaliza, programming is something you’ll have to do every day.

Roshaliza has been working hard, earning whatever money she can to cover the other expenses of her studies at Universiti Sains Malaysia. You can read her entire story here. We think she deserves a reward for all of her hard work. Let’s get her that laptop she needs.

Share Roshaliza’s campaign to your Facebook friends here! Every share is valuable.

Do you loooooove rice?

Duh, of course – we’re Asian! This team of young engineers are developing a project to keep your rice both pest-free and untouched by poisonous insecticide chemicals.

As part of their Final Year Project at Politeknik Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah, the team realised that paddy farmers had no choice but to use harmful chemicals to protect their crops. Even though these pesticides had negative effects, the farmers could not afford alternatives that were more expensive.

The team have even prepared a video explaining their project, which you can watch right here:

Your help could have incredible effects on the future of agriculture in Malaysia. You can read more about what the team is raising funds for and contribute to their campaign here.

When’s the last time you’ve visited your dentist?

Even if your legs turn to jelly every time you hear the word “dentist,” we all can agree that we need them around. Especially when you have a mind-shattering toothache – if you’ve had one, you’ll know that NOTHING else can get done until it’s treated.

Unes Soraya, a dental student at Universitas Gadjah Mada in Indonesia, has a dream. After she graduates, she plans to join a program which sends qualified healthcare professionals like her to underdeveloped parts of Indonesia so that every person gets the care that they deserve.

More than many, Unes Soraya knows what it’s like to grow up in poverty. You can read her full story here – it’s definitely worth sharing.
